The Talented Sara Evans
On the day Feb. 5, 1971, a child was born in Boonville, Missouri who goes by the name of Sara Evans. She was raised in New Franklin, Missouri. Her two brothers soon demonstrated an interest in playing musical instruments. At the age of 4, Sara Evans showed a talent in singing which her mother surely noticed. Being practical and open minded she hoped that her daughter’s talent for singing can help the family with its many financial issues. This prompted her to bring her daughter to a local club in Colombia, Missouri. Sara Evans was soon performing in the local club every Saturday night for a whole two years.
Upon Growing Up:
By the time Sara Evans reached 20, she moved to Nashville and met a certain man named Craig Schelske who was originally from Oregon. They became a couple and prompted her to move to Oregon with him in May 1992. Craig Schelske is now her husband. In 1995, she went back to Nashville and proceeded to record her first demo tape. After a series of playing and recording demos, a songwriter soon took notice of her. Harlan Howard was captivated by her singing talent when she sang I’ve got a Tiger by the Tail. He immediately complimented her voice and went on to say that he had been looking for a voice like hers for a long time.
The Albums:
Together with Harlan Howard, Sara Evans then recorded the album Three Chords and the Truth in 1997 with RCA Company. The album has a good jive with it and was said to have a twinge of boogie and retro. In some ways it was also relaxing. Although the album was not a big hit, it raked in good reviews from critics. Sara Evans soon decided on showing a different side to the world when she recorded her second album. The second album consists of music in a more light, modern-day and country style form. The second album entitled No Place That Far earned her a mainstream career and went to the top of the charts. Her album indeed reached a gold record.
In 2000, Sara Evans released the album called Make It or Break It that contains what is called her best single ever Born to Fly. The song catapulted her to reach number one in the charts. The album was a certified double platinum record. By the year 2004, Sara Evans was performing in various gigs and events, one of which was the Republican National Convention.
In 2005, Sara Evans released another album called A Real Fine Place. This album topped all the others. The album went on to number one on the country chart and number three on the pop chart. She also released another album which contains her favorite songs entitled Feels Like Home. She recently won Female vocalist of the Year in the 2006 ACM Awards in Las Vegas, which shows that Sara Evans has truly made her mark in the music world.
