Cinco De Mayo

Cinco de Mayo is a festive time of fun and dance throughout the world.

For Mexican and Chicano communities, Cinco de Mayo celebrates a Mexican army victory over a much larger French army at the Battle of Puebla. This battle unified the Mexican spirit. Much of Latin America has seized on the holiday that celebrates resistance to foreign intervention in a time of imperialism.
