This former front man of N’Sync has come a long way from being the boyband singer that his fans used to know. There proved to be a better life after his N’Sync days, and in 2002 he released his first solo album (Justified) shortly followed by his second in 2006 with FutureSex/LoveSounds. His life is one fascinating story of successes.

Starting his career

Justin Timberlake or JT (apologies to James Taylor), was born in Memphis, Tennessee and grew up in Millington, Memphis. His entry to the world of show business was through The Mickey Mouse Club in 1993, where he got to meet now fellow successful celebrities such as Britney Spears (a former girlfriend), Cristina Aguilera and JC Chasez who became his band mate in N’Sync.

He jump started his career with N’Sync, the band they formed in Germany in 1995 and rose to stardom in the U.S. two years later. Strings Attached in 2000 was a huge hit with albums flying out of record shops. The group then decided to take time off after the release of their third album and Celebrity Tour. Timberlake began working on his first album soon after.

Going Solo in His Music

His first solo album debuted #2 on the Billboard 200. It was obviously a hit and sold 439,000 copies on its first week of release and sold over 7 million copies worldwide. He continued to make good music and made memorable performances such as the 2003 MTV Europe Music Awards and the infamous Superbowl XXXVIII halftime show with Janet Jackson in 2004. He received two awards: Best Pop Vocal Album for Justified and Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for Cry Me a River in the 2004 Granny Awards. In addition to these, he also received the following nominations for Album of the year (Justified), Record of the Year (Cry Me A River), and Best Rap/Sung Collaboration (Where Is The Love with the Black Eyed Peas).

Acting Career

As if he wasn’t busy enough, Timberlake ventured into acting. Early in his career, he landed minor acting roles in movies such as Model Behavior in 2000 and On the Line in 2001. In 2004 he filmed Edison Force. Timberlake will soon be coming out in films Alpha Dog, Black Snake Moan, and Richard Kelly’s Southland Tales. His voice will also give life to King Arthur in Shrek the Third. Undoubtedly, Justin Timberlake likes experimenting and being involved with a number of things apart from his music.

Business and Pleasure

Timberlake is proving himself to be an entrepreneur, too. He holds interests in several restaurants as well as a clothing line they called William Rast which he formed with childhood friend Trace Ayala.
