This week's episode is about how some parents love their culture so much that even if it conflict with Islam, they will continue to practice it.

How can we complain about the situation of the Muslims if we love the parts of our culture that conflict with Islam more than we love Allah (swt)?

Asalaam a laikum=)
I myself am from Afghanistan and it is very hard differentiating my religion from my culture. That is why I have decided not to practice my culture at all, just Islam. Afghan culture(in my personal point of view) has added more things to Islam, which should not be there AT ALL. Islam is a COMPLETE religion. Nothing should be added nor subtracted. They've added AND subtracted many things which makes it very hard.
My fellow Afghans, plz dnt get offended.

you must have had a fucked up childhood, quit this islam shit it wont get you anywhere, like other religions or fairy tales, islam is just about killing rich cultures and raping young girls or boys this is its history, they have done that to many beautiful cultures, the kinda cultures you are talking about is arab culture which islam originated from. btw how many wives your prophet (role model) had? and how many are you allowed?

When people move to the US, they tend to have an issue with their identity. They usually divide into 3 groups:

- one is all for assimilation, they dont care of any old values or tradition in order to be accepted

- one is all for isolation in order to protect their identity & values

- one is pro assimilation but with the preservation of basic values. Usually this is the largest group

This had happened to many people of different religions, ethnicity, culture, etc.

Islam is culture. Where else do you think it comes from? It is like a total photofit of 7th century Arabia. Everything in it is cultural.
